# 23 summary of Web 2.0

It has been really good to see what is out there and what people are using on the net. I especially liked the Library Thing, podcasts; Facebook; and the whole idea of blogging to share information.
Some of the processes to do things were a little tedious or wouldn't work on the machine I was using.
The online word processing / spreadsheets is a useful thing too.

# 22 downloading audio books

I like the idea of the library subscribing, so that borrowers can download and listen on their mp3. Again there are so many resources that we could use online.

# 21 Podcasts

Podcasts and are great for working people who like to listen to Radio National. The programs can be downloaded and listened to whenever. Great for long trips in the car. Another great education tool as demonstrated by the Web 2.0 training

# 20 You tube

Lots of interesting stuff here. If only there was time to watch some of it! Great as an education tool as well.

#14 and # 15 technorati and Library 2.0 info

I read through all this and I guess if blogs were used a lot the Technorati would be useful. Library 2.0 gives lot of food for thought. The online world is constantly changing with the digital native generation almost living online communicating with friends; downloading music and film sharing photos;. Libraries need to tap in to this world somehow to remain relevant to the younger generation

# 19 Web 2.0 awards

I ended up on Facebook. I can see email will be the new snailmail, as the younger generation seem to communicate via this and Myspace. It amazing just how easy it is to find people and send them a message. It is a great time water though!

# 18 online applications

These are great. I have already shown a library patron how to use Zoho Writer. She was delighted.
Bill Gates might be worried!
